Gentle, precise, and prolific – the Torque Release Technique® (TRT) is one of the most researched and tested scientific chiropractic techniques out there. Restore Chiropractic has the team, resources, and technology to provide this revolutionary chiropractic tool to all of our Maple Grove and surrounding area patients!
The Latest Innovation in Chiropractic Care
The Torque Release Technique® (TRT) is what helps our chiropractic team better locate and correct the cause of a stressed nervous system. We start a TRT adjustment session by having the patient lie face down on an adjusting table where their spine can relax in a neutral position.
Then, instead of implementing traditional chiropractic techniques through manual hand thrusts that twist, crack, or pop the spine, TRT allows our doctors to neurologically assess where primary points of subluxation (nerve interference) are stuck within the central nervous system.
Once they detect where subluxation is present, our doctors use the Integrator, a scientifically advanced instrument with torque and recoil to administer a gentle adjustment that removes subluxation and restores the communication pathways in the nervous system. This process ultimately improves the function of the nervous system which allows the body to heal itself from the inside out.

Effective Chiropractic Techniques
The Torque Release Technique® has been featured on The Health Discovery Channel, Psychology Today, and a number of prestigious scientific journals, such as Nature and Molecular Psychiatry.
TRT is a model of analysis that incorporates seven of the top techniques in chiropractic care:
- Thompson Terminal Point®
- Van Rumpt, D.N.F.T. (Directional Non-Force Technique®)
- DeJarnette, S.O.T. (Sacro-Occipital Technique®)
- Logan Basic Technique® (the foundation of Webster Technique® used in pregnancy)
- Toftness®
- Palmer Upper Cervical®
- Network Chiropractic Spinal Analysis®
The overall goal in TRT adjustments is being on the lookout for primary subluxations. By utilizing this technique, we can work toward stimulating your nervous system to help release and reduce physical tension, allowing your body to ultimately self-correct itself.

Our Torque Release Technique® Process
Our Torque Release Technique® process begins with our chiropractic doctor performing a “leg check,” which tests out your neurological reflexes called “deep tendon reflexes.” This is performed with the patient lying face down on the adjusting table. The chiropractor begins the adjustment visit at the patient’s feet, pressing the feet down toward the floor while gently stretching the Achilles tendons on both feet.
This specific procedure elicits a deep tendon reflex of the Achilles, so that lower leg muscles will contract or tighten, which ultimately causes an apparent shortening of the patient’s legs. When the chiropractor identifies which leg is shortening, that means they’ve located the side of the body where the primary subluxation is occurring.
From there, the rest of the adjustment session focuses on pressing various points of the body, including the head, neck, back, and pelvis. Whenever an area of the body responds (or reacts) to the added pressure, the chiropractor may notice the legs becoming perfectly even, further confirming that a primary subluxation is present.
To move forward with alleviating that neurological stress, the chiropractor will then start the adjustment process that utilizes the innovative Integrator™ instrument.
The Integrator™: The Ultimate Instrument in Chiropractic Care
The result of extensive population research studies and clinical trials, The Integrator™ is a revolutionary chiropractic adjustment instrument that we here at Restore Chiropractic incorporate into our Torque Release Technique® adjustment sessions.
Also known as the Torque Adjuster™, The Integrator™ reproduces therapeutic hand thrusts while offering precise force adjustment features and different tip sizes, shapes, and density characteristics that allow a chiropractor more opportunities to correct almost any subluxation a patient is experiencing.
This FDA-approved instrument automatically discharges when maximum contact pressure is reached, which lets the chiropractor know that a specific adjustment has been performed.
Here’s what you can expect to experience when our chiropractic team implements The Integrator™ instrument into your chiropractic care session.
